Extract from India's GI register listing entry numbers 206, 74, 150 and 119 for Saharanpur Wood Craft, Blue Pottery of Jaipur, Bagru Hand Block Print and Sanganeri Hand Block Printing, under the title GI Fact Sheet

This page lists the Geographical Indication registrations that cover the crafts in the WHIMS collections, with the numbers as they appear in India's register. It is a short reference you can check line by line against the official list.

At a glance
  • Three WHIMS collections are made in four registered crafts. The fourth collection, Epoxy Resin Woodcraft, is built on GI-tagged Saharanpur wood and has no GI of its own.
  • Three of the four registered crafts are tied to Rajasthan and one to Uttar Pradesh.
  • The registrations date from 2008 to 2014.
  • Blue Pottery of Jaipur is listed twice in the register: as a word registration and as a logo registration.
  • Every number on this page was read from the Part A register on 13 October 2026.

Which GI registrations cover the crafts in the WHIMS collections?

Four registered crafts: Saharanpur Wood Craft, Blue Pottery of Jaipur, Bagru Hand Block Print and Sanganeri Hand Block Printing. The table gives each one's application number, its entry number in the Part A list, the year it was registered and its state.

For Saharanpur Wood Craft, Blue Pottery of Jaipur and Bagru Hand Block Print, the entry number is also the certificate number. Blue Pottery of Jaipur has a second, logo entry in the register (application 540), so quote the original word registration when you cite the craft.

How do you find each entry yourself?

  1. Open the Part A register on the IP India website. It is a list of registered GIs organised by registration year and state.
  2. Search the document for the craft's registered name. The row gives its entry number, application number and state.
  3. Match the name, the application number and the state against the table above.

Our GI guide explains in more detail what a registration does and does not tell a buyer.

Common questions

Where do these numbers come from?

They are read from the Part A register, the list of registered Geographical Indications published by IP India. The Part A list shows an entry number, an application number, the registered name, the type of goods and the state.

Does the Epoxy Resin Woodcraft line have a GI?

No. The Epoxy Resin Woodcraft line has no GI registration of its own. Its wood base is GI-tagged Saharanpur wood, and the resin finish is a contemporary technique.

What is the difference between the application number and the entry number?

The application number is the number the Registry gave the application when it was filed. The entry number is the position of the registration in the Part A list. For Saharanpur Wood Craft, Blue Pottery of Jaipur and Bagru Hand Block Print, the entry number matches the certificate number.

How should I quote a GI number in my own listing?

Use the registered name and the application number exactly as they appear on the register, and say only what the registration covers. A registration records a craft's name and origin, and it does not certify an individual piece. Check your own market's labelling rules before printing the claim.
